In the event of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.

Renting a vehicle requires:
- To rent a vehicle from Car Hire in Broxburn, you must be at least 21 years old, though age restrictions may differ based on the vehicle selected. A valid full driving licence appropriate for your chosen vehicle category is required, along with identification and proof of your current address. You will also need to present valid payment information and a security deposit, as well as meet any other criteria outlined in the Rental Agreement.
3. Reservations and Payments
- Reservations can be arranged via our website, by telephone, or directly at our Broxburn office. A booking deposit may be necessary to confirm your reservation. The remaining balance and a security deposit are generally required upon vehicle pickup. All prices are quoted in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment providers.
4. Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of collection, you are required to conduct a thorough inspection of the vehicle and promptly report any existing damage. A vehicle condition report will be completed and both parties will sign it. It is important to return the vehicle in the same condition as it was collected, apart from normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and associated charges may apply. Please ensure the vehicle is returned with the same fuel level as at collection; refueling fees will apply if the fuel level is lower. Late returns could lead to extra charges, so notify us right away if you expect a delay. You will be responsible for any parking fines, traffic violations, or additional charges incurred during the rental period, along with an administration fee.
Insurance and Liability Overview
- All rentals come with basic third-party insurance included. Detailed information regarding coverage and excess amounts can be found in your Rental Agreement. You may explore additional insurance options to lower your financial liability. Please review these options thoroughly. You will be liable for any damage or loss up to the insurance excess amount unless you have opted for extra coverage. Any damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms remains your responsibility, regardless of insurance status.
6. Modifications and Cancellations
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For precise details, consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or no-shows could incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Vehicle Uses
- The vehicle must not be used for any unlawful activities. Engaging in racing, rallying, off-roading, or any hazardous driving is prohibited. Transporting dangerous materials is not allowed. Sub-letting to others or permitting unauthorized drivers is forbidden. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is unacceptable. The vehicle should only be used for its intended purposes and within the specified passenger and weight limits. Operating outside the agreed geographical boundaries without prior consent is restricted.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.
8. Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed by applicable law, Car Hire Broxburn is not responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will not exceed the rental fees paid in the prior 12 months. This limitation does not affect liability for death or personal injury due to negligence or fraud.
9. Local Law Compliance
These Terms are governed by the laws of Broxburn. All disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of Broxburn's courts.
10. Updates to Terms
We reserve the right to revise these Terms at any time. Updates take effect immediately upon posting on our website. Continued use of our services indicates your agreement to the revised Terms.
